Two of them, Fairways and Roadhole, are now catching up fast, but as of Round 4 Bamboo Grove and Lips Bar had not played at all. The rules are that any team which misses 3 away matches is automatically disqualified. Due to some scoresheets still missing it has not been possible to produce accurate league tables or individual players rankings as at time of going to press. However on the basis of information available the teams are - 1. Roadhole, 2. Funny Girl Bar, 3. Exalon, 4. Fairways, 5. Johnnie Walkers, 6. Jungle Juice, 7. Jeaw Bar, 8. Billys' Bar. Top individual players in order are - On (Funny Girl) Simon (Road Hole) Henning (Funny Girl) Theo (Funny Girl) Jeaw, Roy (Fairways) Barry (Road Hole) Mark (Road Hole) Gavin (Jungle Juice) and Peter (Jeaw Bar). It would be a great help to Joyce and Mags if team captains would deliver score sheets to Johnnie Walkers as soon as possible after every match. Details are needed from scoresheets in order to calculate league tables, the top 16 players for the individuals end of season playoff, and entrants to the cup matches. Please note it is the responsibility of team captains to give 24 hours notice to the opposing team if they are unable to play. Failure to do so incurs a 500 baht fine payable to the home team for wasted food preparation. It is also the captains responsibilty to check and agree score sheets carefully at the end of each match. Any discrepancies between scores, tons and closes will result in the lower figures being used for league tables etc. If in doubt about your scoresheets please contact Joyce or Mags. Hua Hin Pool LeaguesThe 9 Ball Pool League got off to a flying start on 13th October with a new format and several new teams. It has been expanded to two divisions of 11 teams, and there will also be two knockout competitions during the season-a Cup, and a Shield for those knocked out of the Cup! As before there will be a top 16 individuals competition based on results through the season. At the time of writing only one round of league matches had been played, but there were plenty of surprises, with the newer teams doing very well. Rose Bar had a great start with a convincing win over Johnnie Walkers 1 in Division 2, with other new teams Nid's Place and the Ship also recording good opening day wins in that division. Last season's 8 ball champions, London Lounge, and top performers Club 99 suffered surprise defeats at the hands of Billy's Bar and Jungle Juice 2 in Division 1. Very early days in the league, but everybody enjoyed themselves, and anybody is welcome to come along on a Wednesday night to take part-pop into any of the participating bars (list below) or visit the Hua Hin After Dark forum on the internet ( www.huahinafterdark.com ) and look in the Events and Activities section. Participating bars: All Bar Won, Billy's Bar, Club 99, Fairways, Johnnie Walkers (2 teams), Jungle Juice (2 teams), Lips, London Lounge Mondo, Nid's Place, Octopussy, P & P, Rainbow, Road Hole, Rock, Rose, Sabai, Sawan, Ship, U-turn. Next month the first league tables will be published so you can follow the progress of your favourite bar! Pictures show all the winners of the various competitions, congratulations to all the players who performed so well last season.
HUA HIN DRAGONS - 4 TEAM TOURNAMENT
It was a day of mixed emotions for ‘Little' Thomas pictured below, he won the player of the tournament award, but it was also goodbye as his dad has a new job in UAE. ‘Big' Thomas put in some great performances also, he ended up as top goal scorer. Well done to the 23 boys and one girl who took part.
Next up for the Dragons is a comp at Evason with dates to be arranged. Many thanks to coach Tim for all his efforts during the season. To Charlie and Mick for their work preparing the pitch and on the day as coaches, to the refs Tony and Simon, to Jim who kept score, and of course to Boom for all the work she put in. Not forgetting our neighbour Roger, who graciously provided changing facilities for the shy player, and was unfazed by the young lad who asked if he could make a milkshake (but only if it's banana).
