Fit for Golf
If you read my article last month and you want to know a bit more about how
realigning the body can help your golf I have a few tips for you. Before
playing it is important to warm up properly. This doesn't mean leaning forward
to tie your shoes up! The joints of the body need to be lubricated so they move
easier and the muscles need more blood to prepare them for the stretching and
contracting that comes from playing golf. A good way to warm up is to start to
go through your swing but start with short movements and build up to a full
swing. This gives the muscles time to get used to the range of movement that
they will be asked to perform during the round.
Stretching, as I mentioned is important. A lot of golfers will put their body in
a static, not moving, stretch. This can send a message to the muscles telling
them to relax and not preparing them for the dynamic action of the coming game.
As with the muscle warm-up a good stretching programme will entail movements of
the joints and muscles up to the end of range of movement. For example; you see
golfers with a club over their shoulders twisting their bodies from left to
right. This is an ideal stretch as long as they don't go too far or hold the
stretch for more than a second. If held for over a second the muscle will want
to contract to stop you from over stretching and tearing that muscle.
This is only a small part of the game that needs work, as most of us know from
playing bad rounds. If you would like your body to be fit for golf then contact
me at fit-foregolf.com or call on 01 0096588 and improve your body and your
game. Guaranteed no sweaty workouts.
