Darts news

The last month saw the completion of the season with the playoffs between the Top 16 individual players, held at 5 different venues over two weeks. The final four were Barry from Road Hole, Terry from Jungle Juice, Joyce from Johnnie Walkers and Chuck from Exalon. The matches were played at Johnnie Walkers. Barry and Terry defeated Joyce and Chuck respectively, and so faced off in the final, with Barry just edging Terry out in a very close match. Well done to all the players concerned.

The next season is still at the planning stage, but many thanks to Joyce and Mags for all their efforts in the season just finished.

INDIVIDUAL PLAYER PLAYOFFS - FINAL

1st place - Barry (Road Hole)

2nd place - Terry (Jungle Juice)

3rd place - Joyce (Johnnie Walkers) & Chuck (Exalon)

Hua Hin Dragons Season End Tournament

The three teams in the Hua Hin Dragons season end tournament fought hard in the hot sun to produce some thrilling action for the large gathering of mums and dads, who turned up to cheer and enjoy the picnic atmosphere.

With six round robin matches of 8 minutes per half leading to a grand final of 10 minutes each half, the fitness levels of the boys and girls were tested, however all the players showed their skills right to the end of afternoon.

All the round robin matches were close, with the biggest margin in the Blue's 3-1 victory over the Red's. The Blue team played well and topped the league with 3 wins in their 4 games, second were the Pink's who won 2 matches in the league stage. The Red team ended up with one win.

The final matched the tiring Blues with the stronger Pinks, the Pinks edged the first half, but took control in the second with Thomas the Pink captain scoring 2 excellent goals. The game ended 3-0.

Alex Wittering one of the two female players, and by far the smallest footballer on show was “man” of the match in the opening game, her brother Nick performed heroics between the sticks, keeping their team, the Pinks, in the game in a couple of matches.

Another goalie who performed well was Florris Bos of the Blue team. Florris, usually an out field player looks to have found a new position for the coming season.

Top scorers on the day were Chris, a new member of the Dragons, and winning captain Thomas both hitting the net 4 times. Don, who as one of the younger players has a real striker's instinct, scored 3, plus another being disallowed by his referee father Tony. Bad luck son!

The season will restart when the schools open again for the new term.

Cricket Sixes at The Dusit

The Hua Hin Sixes celebrates its 10th anniversary this month at the Dusit Resort.

Play starts on the 6th and lasts through to April 10th, with teams from around the globe competing in the sun. Defending champions Melbourne Cricket Club will be bringing 2 teams led by regular visitor Bob Lloyd. A team from Holland will be captained by county and Dutch international player Roland LeFebvre. Almar from South Africa who always provide tough competition are back again.

England is represented by Whitwell CC from Derbyshire. Local teams Hua Hin Hopalongs and the Dusit's own side can be relied upon to provide some unorthodox entertainment! Tom Karnasuta will be “performing” for Bangkok 's Thai Thevada. The colourful Colin “Funky” Miller, who played 18 tests for Australia taking 69 wickets in the process will be staring for the Dusit side.

The fun starts on the 5th when the teams and their supporters are treated to a welcoming event in the evening at the hotel.

All are welcome to come and watch the action at the Dusit Resort on Petchkasem Road , just past the airport.
