Hua Hin Hash House Harriers
It’s been a busy summer for the Hash House Harriers around Hua Hin and Cha Am but it ain’t over yet. We’ve been rained on from time to time but never rained out.
In early June some of us went over to Pattaya to join the Pattaya Hash in their annual Betty Boop run where all the boys dress like girls for the run. Following the run there was a beauty contest with no Hua Hin winner amongst the pretty Pattaya boys. The Betty Boop run is pure nonsense but lots of fun. At the end of June, a couple dozen Pattaya Hashers came over to Hua Hin for an out-station hash run. They were joined by the H2H3 for a Saturday afternoon run after which all enjoyed a Mexican fiesta at the California Mining Cantina. Sunday morning found surviving members of the Pattaya Hash running a hangover recovery run hared by Slackbladder, Hollow Legs and Ballbanger. Also at the end of June, the Cha Am Hash hosted a special 50th run at the Wildlife Rescue centre. Hollow Legs set a great running trail for the event, which was run and walked by the members of the hash as well as many of the volunteer workers at the rescue centre. On the 7th July, the H2H3 celebrated their 7th birthday with a run near Suan Soan Pratipat where we lost Brambles Bill last year. Brambles Bill showed up for this anniversary run and did not get lost on the trail this time. In fact he ran so well on the birthday run that he showed up again two weeks later and came in first. We enjoyed beautiful weather for this 7th birthday run which was also the 100th run of the H2H3 on 777. We couldn’t have wished for a luckier number. On the 11th August the Cha Am Hash celebrated two years of Hash fun since Pimpa gave birth to the kennel in 2005. After the run, an appropriate birthday On On was held at the Chicken Coop. During the last week of September, the Hua Hin Hash and the Hua Cha Hash Pedalers will tackle the challenge of a cross-Thailand run / bike ride which will begin at the border of Burma and end at a minefield on the border of Cambodia. In October many of the Hua Hin and Cha Am hashers will travel to Dalat, Vietnam for the Indochina Mekong Hash where we will join hashers from all over Southeast Asia and other parts of the world for days of hashing fun.
