Dear Sir,
We at Royal Orchid Plus have learnt with great concern about the difficulties that Mr. Gary UK faced in obtaining a reward seat on THAI last August and would like to verify the issue. When redeeming a Royal Orchid Plus air award, members only hve to contact THAI reservation offices worldwide. Travel agents e.g. Western Tours as mentioned in Mr. Gary’s letter are not allowed to issue any Royal Orchid Plus award.
Members are also advised to play their itinerary well in advance with both preferred and alternative flight dates. Though Royal Orchid Plus air award travel is subject to capacity control, number of seats are allotted and available on every THAI flight.
We are sorry for any confusion and misunderstanding which might be caused by insufficient information. This information is provided in our Member’s Handbook which we will be pleased to send to Mr Gary if his address is known to us.
We trust that our explanation is clear and will appreciate your forwarding it to Mr Gary.

Yours faithfully

Dear Editor,
I am writing this letter as a warning to anyone who visits Star Planet Night Club in the City Beach Hotel. Make sure you hand over the correct change or as close to it as you can get. Upon parting with a thousand Baht note for two cola's I was left waiting for my change and drinks which never arrived. The management and staff were very uncooperative when approached with the situation and attempted to return the blame to me, I did not get my change or any form of compensation returned to me. This is not the first incident of this kind I have heard of with reference to this establishment.
Yours faithfully,
Heindrich Hansen

REGARDING TOURIST’S STOLEN MONEY

Dear Sir,
Concerning the unfortunate tourist Ms. Astrid who during her round at Hua Hin Royal Golf Course lost 2,000 Baht from her golf bag, this is a problem we are aware of and are doing our best to rectify. The caddy accused of stealing the money has been fired according to Thai law, although the caddy refused to accept responsibility.
If possible we at the course would be pleased to welcome back the tourist golfer, if she ever come back to Thailand again.

Yours sincerely
Khun Atikhun Bootying
(Assistant manager)

Take care late at night around quiet areas of town, a nasty incident last month left a tourist in hospital after being jumped by a group of locals brandishing house bricks. The tourist in question was taken to a snooker hall by a companion and was clearly in the wrong place at the wrong time. Local police have made arrests.
An elderly lady tourist thought she was being kind by purchasing some flowers from a young child, while she was paying the girl, her "brother" was busy taking money from the lady's bag. We have said it many times in this column, but it needs to be repeated, please be aware, you are not helping these children by buying their wares, merely keeping them on the streets when they should be in bed.
If you hire a motor vehicle, make sure you have adequate insurance cover, and for a two wheeled machine you need a helmet. Police are inforcing the traffic regulations with more vigour these days.

February is a time for romance, so why not take your loved one and sample the exciting options at Action Pursuits, who are offering some special Valentine promotions. Discounted prices for couples taking part in any of their activities including the full or half day packages. There will be flowers for the ladies, and a bottle of bubbly for any couple brave enough to try the tandam skydive. Dawn tells us that the January promotion will run for this month as well, but the special deals cannot be mixed.
Watch this space for details of Monta and Wolfgang's move, the very popular Monta's Garden restaurant will be moving to a new convenient location.
Talking of moving, if you need any help in relocating, or shifting some furniture, give Terry and Ao a ring on 01-526 52 52, they offer transport and a helper for only 990 Baht a day, this price includes the petrol.
